Alice M. Peoples, 92, of Bolivar, died Friday, September 22, 2017 in Ligonier Gardens.
She was born September 23, 1924 in W. Wheatfield Twp, Indiana Co., a daughter of the late Ira C. and Lillian Muir Wakefield.
Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a nurse's aide for Westmoreland Manor and the Bethlen Home. She was a member of the Bolivar United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the former Philanthropic Aide Society. Alice will be fondly remembered for her warm and gracious smile.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh H. Peoples in 1997, a grandson Joseph Patton in 2011, and two brothers, Jack and Eugene Wakefield.
She is survived by three children, Alice R. (John) Kashin of Scottdale, Joe (Donna) Springer of Bolivar, and James R. Peoples of Crete, NE, six grandchildren, Jamie, David, and Brian Peoples, Jeffrey Patton, Sherry (Dennis) Mitchell, and Melissa (Mike Brown) Springer, and a great granddaughter, Ashley Scarff.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the at J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Inc., 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, where Alice's life will be celebrated Monday at 11:00AM with her pastor, James G Sunseri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fort Palmer Cemetery.
