84, Carrolltown, passed away August 18, 2017, peacefully at home after an extended illness. He was born June 21, 1933, in Barnesboro, the son of the late Joseph and Dina (Guarniere) Baldacchino. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Columbus) Baldacchino; daughters, Sister Marita Cecelia, OCD Carmelite Monastery, Loretto; Toni (Mark) Mitro, Delmont; and grandson, Anthony Mitro. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and in the Naval Reserves. Anthony was a graduate of St. Francis College, Loretto and was a school teacher at Central Cambria School District for 32 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2277 Barnesboro, Carrolltown American Legion Post 506 and St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB. Entombment Holy Name Cemetery Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carmelite Nuns of Loretto or St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown.
