Antoinette Papcunik

January 10, 1957 - February 19, 2019

Antoinette Papcunik "Toni", 62, Sidman, went to be with her Lord, peacefully in her sleep February 19, 2019, at home. Born January 10, 1957, in Johnstown, daughter of Elio and the late Beatrice "Betty" (Vettori) Lucci. Survived by father, of Ehrenfeld; loving husband of 42 years, Raymond Papcunik, whom she married May 22, 1976; children, Raymond, married to Brooke (Martinage), Windber; Lyndsey, wife of Denon Carpenter, Salix, Chad, Sidman; and Jason, married to Christa (Roth), Cranberry; beloved grandchildren, Alexa, Mya and Julia Papcunik; Kaden, Isabella, Isaac and Kye Carpenter; and Lilly and Luca Papcunik; sisters, Deborah, wife of Anthony Scarton, Portage; Sandra, wife of Lee George, Portage; and Jacqueline, wife of Robert Butterworth, Northern Cambria; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear sister in the Lord, Wendy Boyd. Toni was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1974. She had a loving and gentle spirit and found joy in giving of herself. Celebrations and family gatherings were always made special by her amazing efforts to prepare wonderful meals. It brought her joy to watch her children reach their accomplishments and experience happiness but her greatest desire was to know that her children and grandchildren are walking with the Lord. Through faith in Christ she bore the suffering of Parkinson's with grace and humility. For in her heart she knew God's word to be trustworthy and true: "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. Friday at Parkview Alliance Church, St. Michael, the Reverend Patrick Walsh presiding. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Bible2School. The family wishes to thank and is especially grateful to all her caregivers for their kindness and compassion.

I worked with Toni for years at the courthouse in Ebensburg. We had many lunches and conversations that I will remember . She was a good friend. And I know how proud she was of the kids. I lost my mom in September of 2018 so I know the pain. I will keep the family in my prayers. I was blessed to know her through your Aunt Sandy and your Pap Elio.

I will remember Toni for the smile she always had. She went through a lot for years with her illness but she always kept her faith. That is something a lot of us couldn't do. I'm sure that Toni is now sitting by her Lord and watching over her lovely family. God bless Toni and the family that she loved so much.
