Born February 24, 1931 in Portage, the daughter of Raymond and Helen Bruscha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bud Maul who passed on May 3, 2001; sister, Jean, and brother-in-law, John Thomas. She is survived by her sons, Terry Bruscha and wife Cindy; and Jeff Maul and wife, Karen, both of Portage; grandchildren, Adam Bruscha and wife Rebekah, Portage; Annette Eyer and husband, James, Pittsburgh; Jay Maul, Nashville; and Andrew Maul, Boston; and great grandchildren, Addison and Elias Bruscha. Ardith was an accomplished pianist and served as accompanist for years at Trinity United Methodist Church in Portage. One of the cherished memories of her family is the beautiful medleys she would play at family gatherings at her house each Christmas Eve. For years she volunteered and served as a dedicated member and officer of the Portage Area Band Boosters while Terry and Jeff were in the marching band. She also volunteered for several years on the committee that helped with the Summerfest ball as part of the towns annual festivities each August, which was one of her favorite events and one she looked forward to with great enthusiasm. Her love of music will live on through her family, especially Jay. In addition to playing the piano, favorite pastimes were reading, baking, and doing sudoku puzzles. She was also a fan of big band and gospel music. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 am on Monday, January 8, at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will immediately follow. Pastor Art Black, officiating. Committal in Prospect Cemetery, Portage. The family extends sincere appreciation to Windber Hospice and the staff of Forest Hills Personal Care for their compassion and wonderful care during these final tender weeks.
