For years she volunteered and served as a dedicated member and officer of the Portage Area Band Boosters while Terry and Jeff were in the marching band. She also volunteered for several years on the committee that helped with the Summerfest ball as part of the towns annual festivities each August, which was one of her favorite events and one she looked forward to with great enthusiasm. Her love of music will live on through her family, especially Jay. In addition to playing the piano, favorite pastimes were reading, baking, and doing sudoku puzzles. She was also a fan of big band and gospel music.
