77, peacefully passed away August 23, 2017 from respiratory complications at Mt. Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield, PA. Born August 12, 1940 in Brownstown, PA, daughter of the late John and Margaret Chumrik. Survived by sisters: Nancy Miske (Stephen), Johnstown; Paulette Fabian (Donald); and Susan Pharis of Coeur d Alene, Idaho. Beloved grandsons: Cody and Nicholas Naylor of Coeur d Alene, Idaho; and devoted son-in-law, Kevin Naylor of Clearfield, PA. Daughter, Kimberly Ann Naylor, passed away at age 35 in 2001 that left a hole in her mothers heart. Kims death impacted our whole family. Barbara worked at the Hiram G. Andrews center in Johnstown as a dorm counselor for many years and retired in September 2000. Barb was a dedicated and hard worker, even with the latter years challenges of being confined to a wheelchair. Barb was known to speak her mind and you always knew where you stood with her, but she had a soft spot and was generous with family and friends. Barb loved living in our family home in Brownstown. She love sitting outside in her yard and enjoyed all the flowers, rose bushes, and water fountain. Kevin planted whatever Barb wanted and kept the yard looking good. She loved playing games, cards and watching movies with her grandsons. She was very talented in needlepoint and sewing, until arthritis took her ability away. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Laurel Nursing Home who took great care of Barb during her 6-year stay. Although sometimes grumpy in pain, she could become a little demanding at times but apologized and became a favorite of the other residents and staff. We are sure they will miss Barb passing the nursing station in her wheelchair and saying wheee, wheee as she slowly moves by. Kevins visits were the highlight of her day. He would always play rummy with her and make her count her own score. He always was there on bingo day and helped many of the other residents as well. They all enjoyed Kevins visit. Kevin was a loyal companion to Barb and we appreciate his dedication. Barb leaves her family with countless memories of her. Barb had many challenges in her life and she faced them bravely and with dignity. We love you Barb and miss you. Barbara will be buried at Grandview Cemetery with her daughter Kimberly Ann Naylor and her parents. There will be a short Graveside Service on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. The family is being served by the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad St.
