Barbara Ann Korch
79, Northern Cambria, passed away May 2, 2019, peacefully at home. Born August 20, 1939, in Nanty Glo, the daughter of Crenson "Eddie" Davis and Ruth (Taylor) Davis Gray. Preceded in death by parents and step-father, Andrew Gray. Survived by loving husband of 57 years, Dr. Peter P. Korch Jr., Northern Cambria; sons, Dr. Peter Korch III, husband of Elizabeth (Morgan), Woodland, PA; Joseph Korch, husband of Judy (Ashcroft), Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and James Korch, husband of Beverly (Reed), Glen Burnie, MD; and daughter, Jean, wife of Steve Kouba, Saco, Maine; and six grandchildren; Mary, Joseph, Peter, Jacob, Samuel and Caroline. Sister of Norma Fye, Cherry Tree. She was employed at First National Bank of Barnesboro when she met Peter, and they married in 1961, settling into a home in north Barnesboro to raise their family. She later worked many years as Municipal Borough Secretary for Spangler and later for Susquehanna Twp. and Burnside Township. Barb had a heart of gold. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, homemaker, and friend. She traveled throughout her years to many tropical destinations with her husband and spent many summer vacations in Canada with her family. Barb also enjoyed cooking, bingo, bowling, football, cards and puzzles, visiting and talking with friends and family, shopping, and watching old TV shows. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to keep updated on the latest stories and news. In her remaining days, Barb was lovingly cared for by her husband, who was attentive and devoted to her. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Conemaugh Valley Hospice for their love and support, and to the many friends who have been like family over the years, most notably Michalene Weiland and Gloria Slavik. Barb will be deeply missed. Her memory is a treasure to all who knew and loved her. May she Rest In Peace. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass and Committal will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Prince of Peace Church, Northern Cambria. Fr. Thaddeus E. Rettger, OSB, officiating. Private graveside prayers will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Dunlo.
