86, Patton passed away January 26, 2018 at UPMC Altoona surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1931 in Patton the son of Edward and Shahida Betsy (Daoud) Solomon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Celestine Rema Solomon, brothers Ernest, Edward and Allen Solomon. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen (Harris) Solomon whom he married June 21, 1963, children Coleen Jo Steele, Baltimore, MD, Beth (Dale) Strohmier, Patton, Chuck Solomon, Jr., Baltimore, MD, Kelly (Betsy) Solomon, Dillsburg, PA, six grandchildren B.J., Matt, Nicki, Brandon, Maddie and Amira, six great grandchildren Soul, Braden, Maddox, Lylah, Parker and Rylee; sister Elaine Solomon, Patton, sister-in-law Rosemarie Solomon, Windber and numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck was a 1948 Patton High School graduate and received his bachelors degree from St. Francis University and his masters degree from Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as a Biology teacher from Cambria Heights School District after 48 years of service. He was an avid Penn State fan, was very involved in the early development of the Patton Little League and was a former high school basketball coach. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 North Fifth Avenue Patton. Funeral service 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home by Rev. Melody Polisky. Committal Fairview Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Patton Youth Association 4246 Colonel Drake Highway, Patton, Pa 16668.
