Peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family members. Preceded in death by mother Bertha, siblings Janet (King) Christian, Patricia (King) Holifield, and Jack King, Jr. Survived by children Elizabeth, Kyle, Tony, Steven, Virginia, Brenda, Evelyn, Cheryl, Monique, and Cherie, and siblings Queen Baker, Robert Blackshire, Sr., Betty Jean McLaurine, Desiree (King) Hickman, Victoria King, and Rev. Sylvia King. A native of Johnstown, PA, King was an American film and television actor, who spent over forty years in the entertainment industry. King appeared in several films such as "Shaft," "The Black Godfather," and "Blackjack;" television classics "M*A*S*H," and "ROOTS: The Next Generation," "The Atlanta Child Murders;" and various stage productions, including Shakespear's "Othello." In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral or interment. Donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Foundation.
