Dolores's Story

Text size

Dolores, 84, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2017. Born January 15, 1933, in Nanty Glo, daughter of Anthony and Mary (Pazero) Lucas. Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Walter; and precious daughter, Leslie. Survived by her daughter, Suzie, wife of Dr. Richard Kastelic, and son, Wally, married to Penny; six grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Kastelic, Shannon Paupa and Crystal Hopkins, Lauren and Danielle Zatkos; and four great-grandchildren, Chase and Caden Paupa, Logan and Tyler Hopkins. Dolores was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Dolores was a stay at home mom. She was active in PTA and the Nanty Glo Democratic Party. One of the great loves of her life was enjoying the outdoors with her family, fishing, and picking berries and mushrooms. She took great pride in sewing her own clothes, knitting and crocheting and she taught her daughters to do the same. Playing cards and games with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always be a memorable Zatkos tradition. Dolores was a kind, humble soul with a faith in God and will be so dearly missed. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Nora and all the Villa staff for their unending love, laughter, care and compassion given to Dolores. Dolores considered The Villa a happy second home and made so many dear friends to laugh, sing and dance with. Also a sincere thank you to Tabby and Interim Hospice for helping make the final journey a peaceful one. There will be no viewing at request of the deceased. A private memorial service will be held at the Villa Chapel. Services entrusted to Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, PA 15905. Condolences may be sent through www.ducafuneralhome.com.
