66, Jenner Township, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2018 at his residence. Born on September 20, 1951 in Johnstown, son of the late Michael T. and Elizabeth Betty J. (Konik) Lepter. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Shelby J. (McAteer) Lepter; sister-in-law, Dianne, (David) Thomas; brother-in-law, Brian (Sharon) McAteer; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; many friends, and loving pets, Coco and Boo. Don was a 1969 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Don was employed as a miner at the former Bethlehem Mines, and later at the former J. Pitt Steel Mill, and retired from the Johnstown Plant. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Don enjoyed fishing and hunting with his uncle Dick. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the funeral home. Private entombment will be at Grandview Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive Extension, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Don.
