He is predeceased by his father and brother Frank.
Don graduated from Greater Johnstown Vocational Technical High School in 1975. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years, achieving the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class.
Don had an incredible mind for electronics and technology. He held positions at the EPCOT Center, Martin Marietta, Universal Studies and most recently as a Technical Designer at ITEC Entertainment in Orlando. Some of his memorable projects included The Mummy and Jurassic Park at Universal. Don's imagination never stopped and he frequently engaged in additional projects, notably a company that performed laser light shows in the 80's and 90's. He had the honor of putting on the light show at the first Orlando Magic basketball game and a few Gator Growls at the University of Florida.
Don had the opportunity to travel throughout his life. He especially loved spending time in Spain while in the Navy and spending two years in Japan while building rides at Universal Studies in Osaka. Don loved playing basketball and studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong for many years, and attained the level of brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. He will always be remembered as a great dreamer and will be sadly missed by those who knew him.
The family would like to thank Nicki Anno for all of her help with setting up Don's care in Boynton Beach. Arrangements are being handled by All County Funeral Home. Memories can be shared at www.allcounty.com. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers please donate to Give Kids the World at www.gktw.org in Don's name.
