Earl F Holtz, Ebensburg. Age 95. Died. Jan. 23, 2018 UPMC Altoona. Born Oct. 10, 1922 in Hastings. Son of Anthony and Catherine ( Fox ) Holtz. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Mary Dietrich, brothers Robert, Urban and George. Survived by children, Richard, Jacksonville, FL; James, Ebensburg, Sharon Giles, Westmont; and Francis, Carrolltown. Grandchildren; Mellisa, Emily, Brian, Laura, Kara, Michael, Stephen, Christine, Jeffrey, Glenn, Christopher, Rebecca, Gregory, David and Eric. Great grandchildren; Dane, Averie, Chloe, David, Tristin, Liam, Noah, Owen, Evan, Ruth, Josephine, Nicholas, Kennedy, Ariel, Isaac, Victoria, and Amelia. Brother of Mary Ruth Dillon, St. Benedict, PA. Army veteran WW 2, Life member of VFW Post 4963, American Legion Post 363, both of Ebensburg and Disabled Veterans Chapter # 2, Johnstown. Nocturnal Adoration Holy Name Church and 3rd Order Secular of Loretto. Former owner of E & E Shoe Repair and retired from Stevens Mfg, as a welder, both of Ebensburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg where vigil wake services will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass 1:30 p.m. Friday a Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg. The Rev. Msgr. David Lockard. Committal St, Marys Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers please make donation to either the VFW or American Legion in Earls memory. Veterans services at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
