70, Munster Rd., Ebensburg, died November 22, 2017. Born October 8, 1947 in Ebensburg, son of the late George E. Jr. and Stella (Meintel) McMullen. Preceded in death by grandchildren: Cadence and Thomas McMullen. Survived by wife of 46 years, the former Cindy Thomas whom he married July 3, 1971 in Altoona. Children: Richard (Melissa Myers) of Munster, Brenda McMullen of Gallitzin, Leigh Ann McMullen (Keith Kowalski) of Munster, Matt (Jennifer Kowalski) of Gallitzin, Andrew (Laura ODonnell) of Loretto and Mark (Melissa Stich) of Loretto. 17 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, an aunt, Ann Ansman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He enjoyed his grandchildren and antique cars. He was a life long farmer. Member of the Sankertown VFW, Blair County Antique Auto Club and the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Sunday. Military Rites in charge of Sankertown VFW and other local Military Organizations.
