85, died October 5, 2017, at home. He was born April 14, 1932 in Lilly, the son of late George and Anna (Zumer) Pyo. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Jane Pooch (Lysic) Pyo whom he married October 25, 1958. He is also survived by his children, Rev. Fr. Edward J. Pyo Jr. of Lilly, Anthony Pyo and his wife, Carol (Oravecz), of Portage, Brenda Lightner and husband, Don, of New Bloomfield, Pa., Cynthia Lewis and husband, Michael, of Shermans Dale, Pa., his grandsons who were the joy of his life, Matthew Lightner, of Maple Shade, N.J., and Benjamin Lightner, of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., great granddaughter, Madi Lightner, of Bastrop, Texas, his brother, George Pyo, of Lilly, and his children, sisters-in-law Ginger Wirtes and husband, Jerry, Shirley Lysic, Patricia Lysic, Barbara Lysic, Betty Lou Geisbrecht, Deborah Hoover and husband, Colin, brothers-in-law Andrew Pinky Lysic and wife, Josephine Usha, Joseph Lysic and wife, Theresa, and Ronald Swires, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, two very special children who he thought of as his grandchildren, Brianna and Michael Kearney. He also leaves behind his best friend and coffee-break buddy of more than 60 years, Francis Conrad and family. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary (Pello) Berezansky and husband, William, Ann Tootsie (Pello) Berzansky and husband, Frank, Justina Deanie (Pello) Klezek and husband, Stanley, Delores Petey (Pyo) Swires and sister-in-law, Audrey Pyo. He was dedicated to his church and spent endless hours through the years working at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Portage. He was a member of the Lilly American Legion and Slavish Citizens Club (Sokols). Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday where Parastas will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, 812 Main Street, Portage, PA 15946. Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by son, Fr. Edward Pyo, and Fr. James Spontak with concelebrating clergy at 11:00 a.m. Monday at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Munster Road, Portage.
