Bub, 96, of Central City, died September 15, 2017 at Somerset Hospital. A longtime resident of Central City, she was born on January 1, 1921, the daughter of John and Nancy (Ruszin) Kaniuk. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph, who passed away on June 13, 1986; and daughter, Nancy; sisters, Martha, Mary Chinoski (Louis), Anna Russian (Frank), Magdalene Nestranski (George), Lula Swantek (Al), and Helen Soho (Joseph); and brothers, Andrew, George (Sue), Frank (Stacey), Charles (Mary), and Nick (Dorothy). She was the last and oldest surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by daughters, Helen Smith (Noel); Marion Yock (David); Katherine Mihelcic (William); and sons, John (Jacquiline); and Karl (Misty); 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter on the way. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Sue Mize, Mary Cook (Chester), and Mary Cook (Michael); and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. Eva worked in New York City as a nanny for several years before returning home and marrying. She was a hardworking and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Member of Central City Assembly of God, she enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, watching TV and being with her family, cooking and baking, which all her family enjoyed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Central City Assembly of God, Pastor Philip Sinclair.
