Frank Cosharek, 99, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday September 23, 2017. He was born January 27, 1918 in Johnstown, a son of the late John and Mary (Prunchak) Cosharek. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane (Mlinarchik) Cosharek, sons James Cosharek and Kenneth Cosharek, and siblings Ann Lavely, Catherine Cosharek, Michael Cosharek, and Nicholas Cosharek who was killed during WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a retired foreman for U.S. Steel, Vandergrift, and an Army Veteran of WWII participating in the Normandy invasion and the European Theater. He is survived by his children Robert (Charlotte) Cosharek of Blairsville, Eileen (William) Spevak of Tucson, AZ, William Cosharek of North Huntingdon, and Thomas (Missy) Cosharek of Rillton; his grandchildren Rebecca Wiegering, and Elizabeth, John, Janine, Makenzie, and Logan Cosharek; his great grandchildren Alejandro, Gabriella, and Rafael; also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
