Adams, George Sylvester "Red", 92, Nanty Glo, passed away Dec. 2, 2017 at his home. He was Born April 25, 1925 in Belsano. Son of the late Daniel Joseph and Matilda. He was preceded in death by Son Douglas James Adams. Grandsons David Stanton, Theodore Stanton, and Joseph Stanton. 5 brothers and sisters. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Red is survived by his wife the former Alice Ada "Babe" Little, Nanty Glo. Children Georgia (David) Stanton, Nanty Glo; Ada (Rick) McMCullough, Nanty Glo; Daniel (Deb) Adams, Colver; John Quincy (Mary "Punken") Adams, Ebensburg; Bernard G (Paula) Adams, Nanty Glo; Gwen (Richard) Karstetter, Howard; Diana (Leon) Musselman, Claysburg; Lanette (Chuck) Nelson, Bellwood; Ginger (Steve) Downes, NY; Cory (Anne) Adams, Nanty Glo. 28 Grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. Army Veteran serving in WWII in the tank destroyers, he received three Bronze Stars, Europe, Africa, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal. He was a personal driver for a general and other military officials. Retired from Bethlem Coal Mines where he worked as a roof bolter. Red was a member of The Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Polish Club, all of Nanty Glo and Twin Rocks VFW. Family and friends will be received at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral, Nanty Glo, on Tuesday from 4-8, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. Interment to follow in Belsano Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dorothy Day Outreach Center, PO Box 600, Loretto, Pa 15940 or Toys for Tots.
