62, R.D. Loretto, died October 9, 2017 at UPMC. Born September 23, 1955 in Spangler, son of Charles "Shocky" and Mary (Little) McCoy. Preceded in death by father and infant daughter Ashley. Survived by mother of Chest Springs, wife of 40 years, the former Loretta Keefe whom he married August 13, 1977 in Hastings, Children: Melanie (Joe) Kordish of Ebensburg, Lucas of Ebensburg and C.J. of Pittsburgh. Sisters: Katy Wilt and Sally Miller of Chest Springs and Marilyn (Randy) Miles of R.D. Coalport. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law. Gerard was an avid Seattle Seahawk fan, he enjoyed family activities, helping others, going to ball games, hunting and fishing. He retired from Barnes and Tucker and Tanoma Coal Mines after 26 years of service in 2000. He then worked for Penn Dot for 14 years. Member of the UMWA and Carrolltown Local, Chest Springs Sportsmen and St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, Rev. Christopher Lemme TOR, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 PM Thursday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Rosary will be recited Thursday. www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com
