Harold's Story

81, Hollidaysburg, passed away at his residence on Saturday surrounded by his family. He was born in Everett, son of the late George and Volna (Potts) Price. On Dec. 15, 1957, he married Regina Riley in Everett. Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Ronna Lee (Les C.) Stover of Plainfield and April Jo (Tom) Sell of Hollidaysburg; a son, Michael K. (Amy) Price of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren: Emily (Tim) Price-Lee, Natalie (Andrew) Kaminski, Seth A. (Rosemary) Stover, Austin M. Stover, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Sell, Corey Sell, and Nathan Sell; three great grandchildren: Reed Kaminski, Gwen Kaminski and Nolan Sell; a brother, Edward M. (Carol) Price of Windber; and many nieces and nephews. Harold began and ended his career first teaching at Hollidaysburg Jr. High and returning in 1978. While at Hollidaysburg he served as Athletic Director and as a Science teacher. He taught and coached at Hollidaysburg from 1978 until his retirement in 1996. While Harold was coach at Hollidaysburg, they won five District Championships, two Western Regional Runners Up and one State Semi-Final Runners Up. He previously taught and coached at Williamsburg High School, Windber Area High School, Dickinson College, Carlisle and Leigh University. In 1977, while coaching football at Lehigh, they won the D2 National Championship. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor Cindy Carlisle officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to support the Harold Price Scholarship Fund, Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, 1330 11th Ave., Altoona, PA, 16601.
