87, Northern Cambria, passed away November 30, 2017, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born April 24, 1930, in Spangler, the son of Patrick and Mary (Glancy) Griffin. Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Margaret "Peg" (Zanin) Griffin, who died January 11, 2007; and brother, John Griffin. Survived by daughter, Lisa, wife of George Uhron, Northern Cambria; son, James Griffin, husband of Jill (Johnson), Pittsburgh; and grandsons, Brian, James P. "J.P.", and Ethan. Brother of Mae Rose King, Pittsburgh. US Army Veteran of the Korean War and member of Spangler American Legion Post 569, where he served as a past Commander. Founding member of the Spangler American Legion Baseball team. Retired accountant for the PA Department of Revenue. Former tax collector for Borough of Spangler. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Chapel. Fr. Donald Dusza celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery. Military honors by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim to Northern Cambria Public Library or Spangler Fire Co.
