Krise, James J., 89, Fallentimber, died October 28, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born August 25, 1928, in Fallentimber, son of the late David and Marie (Davis) Krise. Preceded in death by son, James, on October 25, 1992, and these brothers and sisters: Florence Conrad, Coletta Hudson, David, Joseph, and Rosalie McElheny, and half sisters: Mary Vidmar and Marguerite Bosar Ogiela. Survived by wife of 57 years, the former Verna Potter, whom he married July 30, 1960, in St. Augustine; daughter, Gemaine (David) Orr, of St. Lawrence, and two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Veronica. Last member of his immediate family. Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served in the 21st Infantry Regiment and the 24th Infantry Division. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked at Springfield Mine in Westover for 13 ½ years and Bethlehem Mine 33, Ebensburg, for 26 years and retired in 1990. Lifetime member of the Coalport VFW, and member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Augustine Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the convenience of the family. Military Rites in charge of Coalport VFW.
