75, of East Taylor Twp. passed away November 25, 2017. Born October 6, 1942 graduate of Franklin high School class of 1961. Son of Julius C. Sr. and Laura (Brown) Porcher. Preceded in death by parents and sister Pearl Jackson. Survived by his wife Gloria (Hogans) and children Donavan James Porcher (Zana), Julie Jackson (Dana), Daria Auguste, Angela Smith (Hilton). Grandchildren Porscha, Hilton, Marcus, Amari, Ciera, Nyla, Sasha, Cassius and Donavan, Jr., great-granddaughter Malaya. Sisters Rosalie Gordon and Verna Carter and brother Rev. Julius C. Porcher, Jr. Special nieces Lashalamar Hogans and Lashavio "Precious" Hopkins, Stacy Lee and Sherry George special nephews David Porcher and Theodore Carter, Goddaughter Niki Gordon and Godson Ryan A. Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. "Jim" was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam Era, a 1974 Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, he was a former employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., former employee of Mainstream where he served as an employment recruiter. James was very active in the community serving with various organizations including President of the local NAACP of Johnstown, Advisory board of PA Human Relations Commission (PHRC) and Landlords Assoc. He formed his State Farm Agency where he worked for many years before retiring and made many wonderful friends with customers and other State Farm employees. Family and friends will be received from 2 - 8 PM Friday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 351 Second St., Conemaugh, where his Homegoing Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, the Pastor Rev. Maurice T.
