Jean Marie Carr, 101, of Windber, formerly of Greensburg, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. She was born September 16, 1916 in Trenton, NJ, a daughter of the late Vincent and Carmella (Pate) Valeri. Prior to retirement she had been employed by AE Troutman Department Store in Greensburg and St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. She was a member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg, the Golden Ager Club of St. Bruno Church, Rosary Altar Society and Legion of Mary. She attended Westinghouse High School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James E. Carr, Sr. on September 12, 1978; and two sisters: Saveria Buttice and Flora Valeri. She is survived by her son: James E. Carr, Jr. and wife Marsha J. of Davidsville; three grandchildren: James E. Carr III, Angela Yoder (Joel) and Franklin Carr (Kelly); four great-grandchildren: Nicolas and Christopher Yoder and Brooklyn and Piper Carr; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
