(Leech), 87; Johnstown, went to be with the Lord, September 21, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born October 7, 1929, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Johanna (Kuzniar) Lech. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 67 years, Edward Walat; brothers, Joseph, Walter, Anthony and Edward; and sisters, Ann Leech, Mary Louise Leech, Angeline Peterman and Eleanor Pohalski. Survived by loving daughters, Jacqueline, wife of Joseph Boito; and Mary Ann, wife of David Orlovsky, both of Johnstown; and grandsons, Ryan and Cody Orlovsky. A sister of Genevieve Gates of Johnstown. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Freida Walat and Catherine Leech; brother-in-law, Merle Gates; and numerous nieces and nephews. JoAnn was a former nurses aid, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, in her younger years. A member of the Legion of Mary, and lifelong member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church. She was the most devoted wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law there ever was; she especially enjoyed time with her family and decorating her house with many lights during Christmas. She was a terrific baker who made delicious gobs, nut and poppy seed rolls; and she made the best breaded pork chops and potato salad you ever tasted. JoAnn also had a green thumb. and grew beautiful impatiens and marigolds; and had a large vegetable garden. She was a longtime BINGO Player, who could play 36 cards at one time; and enjoyed various trips to casinos to play the slot machines; and played the lottery with her favorite number 777. JoAnn was an accomplished bowler; and she enjoyed listening to Polkas and Daniel ODonnel. Friends received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Rev. David S. Peles. Committal Grandview Mausoleum. Condolences may be sent at fgozogfuneralhome.com
