80 years of age, preceded in death by his wife Ethel, parents John and Helen (Kozel) Horbal, and brother Ronald. He attended Headricks grade school and then Franklin High School where he graduated in 1954. John worked at Bethlehem Steel until 1958. He then moved to Washington D.C. where he worked for forty years, first at Geico Insurance for a short time and then for thirty-two years at Thomson & Cooke as an industrial tool salesperson. During this time, he married Ethel and helped raise several children. John retired and moved back home to Park Hill in 2002, where he enjoyed memberships at the Park Hill Legion and the Russian Club in the West End. In 2013, he moved to Pittsburgh where he lived until his passing. John was a lifelong member of Christ the Savior Cathedral where his funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, The Very Reverend Protopresbyter Robert Buczak celebrant, followed by committal service at the Cathedral Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the Moskal -Reid Funeral Home 6:00 - 8:00PM. John is survived by his daughter Kristi Miller, step-daughter Kimberlea Kelley, nephew Ronald Horbal Jr of South Carolina, many grandchildren, and the extended Horbal and Kozel families in and around Johnstown. John was of good nature and will be missed by many, family and friends.
