John Anthony Sgroi


SGROI- John Anthony "John the Barber," 75, Johnstown. Passed away August 11, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born November 2, 1943 in Johnstown. Son of the late James and Antoinette (Oliver) Sgroi. Survived by daughters Tina Rohde (David) of Central City and Renee Dudinack (Richard) of Johnstown; grandchildren Niccolo Cascino, Madison and Brooke Stem, Chance, Zane and Kaden Dudinack; brothers Joseph (Carol) and Vincent (Deborah); and sister Angelina Matey (Joseph). John enjoyed camping and bowling. Owner of Jon's Barber and Styling Shop. Friends will be received from 4:00 until time of funeral at 6:00 Friday at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. Inurnment at St. Anthony's Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of John's passing., my condolences to the entire family.. I worked with John for ten years and he was a great guy to work with and for. But more than that he became a good friend; i will miss him.

john cut my hair for years. even when i came home from florida. they lived across from my parents on bedford st, he bought my dads car when my dad could no longer drive. good memories, he will be missed

So very sorry to hear of John’s passing. Always the nice guy. We all had such fun in the neighborhood and the school park as kids. John was one of the first to have a car and that was pretty special at that time . He taught me and most of the neighborhood to jitter bug. When an occasion arrives I still try to dance that way. RIP John condolences to the family.
