, 84, Mine 40, Scalp Level Boro. Went to be with the Lord January 9, 2018. Born September 1, 1933 in Windber. Son of Stanley and Rose (Luma) Vilga. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Jean Majkowski, Walter Vilga, Joseph Vilga, Frances McKuskie, Josephine Swerbinka and Dolores Miller. Survived by wife of 59 years, Donna (Trysnicky) Vilga; daughters, Laurie wife of Larry Moschgat and Karen Vilga; sons, John Vilga and wife Linda (Patsy) and James Vilga and wife Susan (Goodin); grandchildren, Kristen (Moschgat) Blackburn, Amanda (Moschgat) Ferrante, Tyler Vilga, Chase Vilga, and Matthew Vilga; great grandchildren, Braden, Colton and Mason Blackburn, and Gabriela Ferrante. John was a retired employee of Basic Engineers, a loving and devoted husband and father, and the most joyful grandfather. He will forever be missed and never forgotten by those whose lives he touched, and those who loved him. Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Reverend Roderick N. Soha, Pastor. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber. Friends received 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held.
