Joseph N. DeSalvo


75, Nicktown, passed away May 3, 2019. Born September 6, 1943, in Spangler, the son of the late Steven and Mary (Paone) DeSalvo. Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Donna L. (Farabaugh) DeSalvo; daughters, Maria Jacobs, Wellington, FL; Christina DeSalvo, Nicktown; and Angela DeSalvo, Northern Cambria; grandchildren, Dean, Devon and Destiny Jacobs; and sister, Martha, wife of William Wood, Phillipsburg. Retired Mine Training Instructor for Penn State University. Following retirement, Joe became a CASA member (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children) and worked to help many families. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather enjoying time spent with his family and his cherished dog, Macy. Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD, celebrant. Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flower donations may be made in memory of Joe to Four Footed Friends, Indiana, PA.

Joe was a very special man indeed. I got to know him through CASA. He was such a great help through everything. My boy and I grew quite fond of Joe. He will be greatly missed. I'm sending my love and prayers to Donna and the whole family.
