69, formerly of Windber, PA passed away peacefully on August 26, 2017 at Windber Hospice. A Strong willed caretaker of her family, whom she would move the world for. Lovingly referred to by her five grandchildren that she adored as Nana Banana. Survived by her loving husband David A. Noll of Johnstown, and daughters Christi (Noll) Ciampaglione of Midland, VA and Amy (Noll) Rocco of Johnstown, PA; two sons-in-law Michael Campaglione and John Rocco; five grandchildren: Nic Ciampaglione, Natallo Rocco, Casey Elizabeth Ciampaglione, Luca Ciampaglione and Xavier Rocco. Also survived by younger brother Michael G. Thomas of Windber, PA, his wife Debbie Thomas and their children Michael & Jason as well as her niece and nephew Justin Reitz and Courtney McDermott. Preceded in death by her parents Michael G. and Elizabeth M. Thomas and sister Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Yuhas.
Kathy was a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she earned a degree in Journalism and Communications. She was an accomplished journalist and communications specialist in several forums which included the Johnstown Tribune Democrat, and ending her career in 2009 at the United States Department of Labor, Washington, DC, working directly for the Secretary of DOL. Following her formal career she continued to be a political activist and student of history, serving in various roles to support conservative ideals in the country she loved. She loved to travel both at home and abroad. Her main priority was always her family. A true source of strength and inspiration until God called her. She fought a short, but brave and courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Bedford, PA. Friends will be received at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown PA 15905 from 5:00 8:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2017. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Johnstown on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Committal will be held at Grandview Mausoleum.
