Larry, 81, Pittsburgh, native of Spangler, passed away January 6, 2018, at his home in Pittsburgh. Born January 23, 1936, in Spangler, the son of John V. and Rose (Good) Hammond. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Jane Rummel and Marian Eaton. Survived by beloved companion, Lois Murphy, Pittsburgh; children; Timothy (Connie) Hammond, Hanover; Maja (Jim) Sokira, Latrobe; Bridget (Dan) Super, Penn Run; and Joel (Tomomi) Hammond, Tokyo, Japan; grandchildren, Bethany (TJ) Hardestry, Erin (Steven) Hildebrand, Jeffrey Sokira, Danielle Super, Sarah, Madeline and Kylie Hammond; great-grandchildren, Josephine and Woods Hardestry, Emma and Andrew Hildebrand. Larry also enjoyed the company of his nephews, Mike and Charles Gregory as well as great-nephew, Matt Friedoff and family. US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Larry worked as the manager of J.V. Hammond Lumber Co. in Spangler. In addition, he was a self-employed photographer, working many years in a profession he was passionate about. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
