94, of Galion passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion. Marion Rummel was a caregiver in her own special way. Whether taking care of family, making candy or crocheting blankets and baby hats for people in the hospital she loved helping others.She was born July 27, 1923 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of H.H. Link and Sylvia (Crouse) Link. On November 15, 1941 she married Harry B. Rummel and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his passing on February 6, 1992.
Marion was a 1941 graduate of Johnstown High School and worked as an Inspector for the former AMCO now known as Galion LLC for 17 1/2 years. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Galion Golden Age Center. Marion enjoyed watching golf, sewing and making crafts. She is survived by children Larry Rummel of Larue, Texas, Floyd Rummel of Columbus and Denise (Jim) Moore of Galion; daughter-in-law Frances Rummel of Columbus; grandchildren Brad (Tina) Rummel, Alan (Jennifer) Rummel, Greg Rummel, Mark Rummel, James (Sarah) Moore, Susan (Seth) Hazlett and Richard Moore; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by seven sisters and a brother. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Terry Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Galion Golden Age Center in care of the funeral home.
