(Weakland), 87, formerly of Ben Avon, passed away Friday February 9, 2018, in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by her family. She was born January 1, 1931, in St. Boniface. The daughter of Paul and Agatha (Thomas) Weakland. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Robert T.; sons, Robert P. and William; sisters, Pauline Peppetti, Patricia Link, Dorothy Smychynsky and brother, Fred Weakland. Survived by children, Marie Lenyo who was her long time loving caregiver, Margaret (David) Sling, St. Augustine, FL; Ellen (Angelo) Fonzi, Dyer, IN; Karen (Mike Lorey) Ott, Raleigh, NC; who were also her caregivers; Diane (Bill) Kolesar, Eldersburg, MD; Eric (Jeanette) Ott, Ohio Twp., PA and daughter-in-law Lana Ott, Wexford; grandchildren Jason (Samantha and future great granddaughter) Sling, Kenneth Bubien, Karley Ott, Alex Ott, Kevin Ott and Derick Ott; great-grandson, Ethan Bubien; granddog Geno. Sister of Ethel Cunningham, St. Benedict; Peggy Boothman, Northern Cambria, and Cinda Sodmont, Hastings; also many nieces and nephews. Ruth loved spending time with her family, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, bingo and trips to Atlantic City. She is a former member of Sacred Heart Church, in Emsworth, Pa. She retired after 30 years at Bel-Aire Foods. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Fr. Donald Dusza, officiating.
