91, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2017 at The Rose of Sharon Home in St. Michael. Born February 12, 1926 in Hooversville, son of Frank and Filippa (Arena) DeAngelo. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Samuel, Thomas, Jack, Larry, Frank Jr., and sisters Margaret and Josephine. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years Rose (Verrone), son Michael D'Angelo Jr. married to Georgia (Berkey) and daughter RoseMarie wife of Gary McClelland, both of Johnstown. Grandchildren Michael D'Angelo III, Lori Zitelli, Bonnie Morris, great grandchild Tarynn Morris, brother Guy DeAngelo married to Millie, of San Diego, sisters in law Emma DeAngelo and Marjorie DeAngelo. Also numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike was a Marine Corp Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. After the war, he returned to Johnstown and married the love of his life, Rose (Veronne), in 1949. He was a very talented craftsman and always had a great work ethic. He retired as maintenance supervisor from Greater Johnstown School District. He loved trap shooting, fishing, hunting, and bowling. Michael was a life member at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, formerly St. Anthony Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother who will be sadly missed.Friends received from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Frank Duca Funeral Home Inc., EAST HILLS CHAPEL & CREMATORY, 404 Walters Ave, Johnstown PA 15904. (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory), where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Matthew Misurda and Pastor Randy Bain, officiating. Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown, where a military ritual will be conducted by Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 287.
