64, Hastings, went to be with Lord on Wednesday December 20, 2017, at UPMC-Altoona, surrounded by her family. Born October 11, 1953, in Spangler, PA, a daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Helen (Waksmunski) Bernard. She was preceded in death by her parents. Michele is survived by her siblings, William J. Bernard Jr. and his wife Patricia (Huber), Hastings; Robert M. Bernard and his wife Linda (Beltowski), Hastings; James Brian Bernard, Hastings; five nieces; two great nephews; 2 great nieces; and many friends. Michele was retired from the Federal Bureau of Mines, where she was a secretary. Michele was very involved in the Hastings community. She served as the Borough Tax Collector and was a member of the State Tax Collectors Association. She was life member of the Hastings VFW, a member of the Church Council and the Choir at St. Bernard, a board member of the Hastings Library, as well as a board member of HAIDA. She was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Firemens Association. Michele enjoyed gardening. Friends and family will be received on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday December 29, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B. Officiating. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery.
