Michele's Story

Text size

Michele Lynn, 44, Nanty Glo, passed away on May 29, 2017, while on vacation in Salinas, California, killed by a hit and run driver. Born September 18, 1972, daughter of Jerry and Cheryl (Bifano) Lightcap. Preceded in death by father; and sister, Jodi Lightcap; grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Bifano and George and Martha Lightcap. Survived by beloved son, Blaze of Lancaster; mother, Cheryl of Nanty Glo; and brothers, Jerry (Mindy) of Lancaster and George of Pittsburgh. Also survived by nieces, Paige Kasecky, Maddy Ulasky, Eden Lightcap and Meadow Lightcap; nephews, Devin Barzdo and Keagan Ulasky; and special friend, Jeremy Beckel. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She loved them all very much. Michele graduated from Blacklick Valley. She worked as a welder, bartender, caretaker and was the best housekeeper. She had a passionate free and loving gypsy spirit. She was often found hiking, planting flowers and taking care of her special girl Meadow. She enjoyed crafts, flea markets and garage sales. She loved heavy metal music, 70s and 80s rock. She often went to concerts with her son and even took Meadow a few times. Her doors were always open to a friend or stranger who needed a place to stay and many did. She recently got the wanderlust and thanks to Max and Peter, two gypsy friends, she got to visit 30 states including all the state parks. She found pleasure in sending pictures so we can all enjoy her trip! When she landed in Salinas, California, she met two wonderful friends, Jennifer, Tracy and their families and decided to stay for awhile. So close to the shore, she could smell the ocean breeze. I want to thank everyone on Facebook who wrote to express their feeling for my little girl and helping to bring her home. Also, thanks to all of you who have sent your warm wishes, prayers, sent cards, flowers, food and stopped to visit. As to Michele's wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Please share stories and/or photos you may have of her on her Facebook page. A special thank you to Jennifer and Tracy, her new friends in Salinas. You instill my faith in humanity. I can never thank you enough for taking care of everything for me out there. Also, thank you to Struve & LaPorte Funeral Home. Love, Michele's Mama
