Nellie's Story

(Eckenrod), 97, of Brunnerville, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Bon Air, she was the daughter of Simon and Nellie(Tillie) Eckenrod. She was married to the late Philip B. Conlin Sr. for 45 Years. Nellie is survived by eleven children: Michael (Judith) Lititz, Timothy (Maria) Lititz, Mary (Gary Waid), Honolulu, HI., Philip, Altoona, Regina (William Fink,) Yorba Linda, CA., Dorothy (Jim Wild,) New Providence, Leonard (Doris) Columbia, Loretta (John Dourte), Ocklawaha, Florida, Patricia (Ronald Miller), Brunswick, ME., Christine, Lancaster, Steven (Sharyn) Annville. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren 39 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are 8 sisters and 3 brothers. Nellie served in the US Army as a member of the Woman's Auxiliary Army Corp during World War II stationed in Australia. Nellie was a crossing guard for the Warwick School District for 30 years. She was a long-time member of the St. James Catholic Church, Lititz. Nellie loved to play bingo and the lottery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverend James O'Blaney C.Ss.R as celebrant. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with additional viewing on Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, following a procession to church for service. Final commendation and farewell in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Nellie's memory to Lebanon VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Mail Code V10, Lebanon, PA 17042.
