(Popovich), 94, Johnstown; loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister; passed away August 19, 2017. Born October 31, 1922 in Windber. Daughter of John and Rosalia (Dec) Popovich. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward Vincent Rawski; sisters, Sister Cupertine, Helen Gagas and Maryann Simpson; brothers, Stanley, Frank, William, Walter, Edward, Joseph and John Popovich. Nellie was the last surviving member of 11 children. Survived by daughter, Kathleen A., wife of Larry Brindza and son, Edward D. Rawski. Also survived by granddaughter, Christine, wife of Dr. Anthony Foster; sister-in-law, Beverly Popovich and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Belmont Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Reverend Roderick N. Soha, Pastor. Interment, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Nellies memory.
