Norman's Story

Seese, Norman E., 84, formerly of Windber, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2017 at Homewood at Martinsburg. Born June 26, 1932 in Windber, son of Lemon and Theda (Helman) Seese. Preceded in death by parents, wife Joanne (Otto), brothers Leonard and Robert. Survived by his five children Jill, wife of Mark Sotosky, Windber; Jack, married to the former Janice Brubaker, Punxsutawney; Leland, married to the former Melissa Longenecker, Everett; Daryl, married to the former Rhonda Putman, Shippensburg; and Rhonda, wife of Brian Weaver, London, UK. Grandchildren Jessica Putman, Justin (Julia) Dello, Matthew Dello, Melissa (Kevin) Pritchard, Joshua Seese, Micah Seese, Josiah Seese, Carson Seese, Connor Seese, Wilson Weaver, Owen Weaver, and Alison Weaver. Great-grandchildren Deklan, Cora, Lucy, Max, Alexis, Andrew. Sisters Elsie Cartwright and Ruth Ann Vaneiken.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Norm owned and operated Seese Towing and Auto Repair in the Johnstown area. He acquired the Dairy Queen franchise in Richland in 1981 and for many years worked along with his wife and five children.
Norm loved to travel and go on family vacations. In recent years he enjoyed working on his farm with various projects, especially cutting the grass. He liked helping his children and grandchildren with their homes and vehicles. Most importantly, "Pappy Seese" loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended Faith Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday at Faith Chapel, Geistown. Pastors Wes Yoder and Andrew Taylor, officiating. Interment Rummel Cemetery, Windber. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norms memory may be made to Faith Chapel Building Fund, 730 Sunberry St., Johnstown, PA 15904
