Percy C. P.C. Shannon, Jr., 92, of Somerset, formerly of Stoystown, died Oct. 11, 2017 at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1925 in Pittsboro, MS, son of Percy C. Sr. and Willie (Free) Shannon. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Betty Elaine Barnhart, brothers: Boyce and Dale Shannon, and sister Stinah Anderson. Survived by these children: Clifton and wife Sheila, Washington D.C., Faye E. Shannon, Mechanicsburg, Dale and friend Brooke Shaffer, Stoystown, Lon and wife Kelly, Charleston, WV, and Jeffrey and wife Jamie, Mechanicsburg; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Mary Bryant, Little Rock, AR; special niece Barbara Gillespie, Memphis, TN; and daughter-in-law Marian Shannon, Johnstown. He was a W.W. II Navy veteran, and a retired heavy equipment operator with the I.U.O.E. Local 66. Life member of Stoystown American Legion Post 257, and Hooversville V.F.W. Post 7565. Member of Somerset Lodge 358 F. & A.M. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.
