Rachel Pugliese Vesely passed away on September 28, 2017 in Florida. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 29, 1976, she received a special edition birth certificate since her birth was during the USA bicentennial year and on leap year day. She lived in Murrysville, Johnstown and Panama City, FL. A 1994 graduate of Westmont High School, she attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh, then completing prerequisite courses for an MBA and worked for the UPMC speech therapy department with autistic children. She was a member of Sigma Delta Tau and the National Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. Following graduating from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center School of Histo-technology with academic honors, she was employed at Gulf Coast Medical Center, where she was a supervisor at the time of her death.
Rachel is survived by her 3year old son, Richard Vonn Louie Vesely V., and is sadly missed by parents Leonard and Louise (Shoup) Pugliese, brother Ryan Pugliese, sisters Christine Upton, Susan Gavazzi, Kathleen Rambo and Susie Marie Peterson, and grandmother Lois Shoup. She has numerous extended Shoup family members in Pennsylvania, Peterson family members in Florida and Callahan family member in Connecticut. She was blessed to have a multitude of friends and adored all living creatures. She rescued cats, turtles, birds and bugs. She spearheaded many organizations and was a positive influence in many peoples lives both personally and professionally.

Friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., from 1:30- 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Burial will be at Washington County Cemetery in Washington, PA.
