79, Northern Cambria, passed away June 18, 2019, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born April 8, 1940, in Coalport, the son of Arthur and Leona (Piette) Griffiths. Preceded in death by parents; an infant brother, Morton Jay; and brothers, Arthur and James Griffiths. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Margie (Meese) Griffiths with whom he cared for 14 foster children. Brother of David (Connie) Griffiths, Northern Cambria; Leona (Marshall) Moore, Hastings; Robert (Beverly) Griffiths, Seward; Richard (Carrie) Griffiths, Northern Cambria; Sheridan (Kathy) Griffiths, Hastings; and Linda (Ernie) Miller, Northern Cambria. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Member of Pleasant View Wesleyan Methodist Church. Formerly employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Frank Sheesley Company, member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 for 55 years. Life member of Spangler Fire Company where he served five years as cook for the Social Hall and Fish Fries. Member of Cambria-Somerset Fire Police, Cambria County Vol. Fireman's Association, Western PA and Central District Fireman's Assocations. Social member of Moss Creek Rod & Gun Club. Ray was a "Jack of All Trades" never finding something he wasn't willing to try to fix and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Friends will be received from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria and from 10:30 a.m. Monday at Garman Church of God until time of service at 12 noon. Rev. Donald Carpenter, Pastor Paul Demi and James Whited, Lay Minister officiating. Committal, McDowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, at Ray's request all donations may be made to his beloved wife, Margie.
