Raymond Michael Steinbeiser

Raymond Michael Steinbeiser died unexpectedly in his sleep at his home in Hollidaysburg on November 14, 2016. Born on February 12, 1949, Raymond was the eldest of four children of Raymond and Anna Marie Steinbeiser of Altoona. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents his sister Paulette Baranik and his beloved wife, Margaret Steinbeiser. He is survived by his son John Benjamin (Danielle) Gilliam of Greenville, SC, two grandsons, Sawyer and Nate of Greenville, SC, his brother Stephen (Anne) of Murrysville, PA, his sister Christine (Gary) Toth of Cranberry, PA, his aunt and godmother Anna Marie (Thomas) Long of Altoona and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Raymond was a devoted husband and caring father. He possessed a keen intellect, an insightful concern for others and wry sense of humor. He was a gifted musician and scholar earning advance degrees from St. Francis University, Juniata College and Mount Aloysius. He excelled at several career paths in nursing and health care management including addiction recovery, senior care and state certification of health care facilities. From his earliest years Raymond was a man of deep faith and generously shared his gifts of teaching and ministry with local faith communities. He will be greatly missed by all.
