Regina's Story

age 95 of Mount Clemens, passed away Wednesday afternoon at McLaren-Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. She was born on May 22, 1922 in St. Michael, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Susan (Martyak) Navatsyk. Her joys were her family, driving, traveling, crocheting, quilting and bingo. Regina was proud of being a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Volunteering for hospice and veterans, she was once awarded the United States Presidential Volunteer Award for 1,000 hours in one year and also honored with Volunteer of the Year by Vista Care Hospice in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mrs. Kushner is survived by four children, Barbara (James) Blackwell of Croswell, Dennis (Lynn Gau) of Silver Springs, Florida, Douglas of Mount Clemens and Susan (Joseph) Tutty of Dunwoody, Georgia; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Regina was predeceased by her parents John and Susan Navatsyk, her husband, Andrew, sister Mary Ellen Navatsyk and two sons, David and Patrick. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. (in state 8:30 a.m.) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 98 Market Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Father Michael N.
