Richard Albert Sr., 85, Northern Cambria, passed away July 21, 2017, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 25, 1931, in Barnesboro, son of John F. and Julia (Gormish) Sheredy. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley A. (Domanick) Sheredy, who died March 10, 2017; sister, Theresa Sheredy; and brothers, Stanley, John and Edward Sheredy. Survived by children, Shirley Ann, wife of Ross Gemmill, Illinois; Richard, husband of Erma (Konitsky) Sheredy, Hastings; David, husband of Beckie (Diehl) Sheredy, Hagerstown, Md.; Cynthia, wife of Paul Mazurak, Hastings; Lori Sheredy, Indiana; and Michael, husband of Beth (Baker) Sheredy, Cherry Tree, and grandchildren, Michelle and Robert Wojcicki; Rick III, Patricia and Angela Sheredy; Stephen Sheredy; Phillip Osborn; Cynthia (David) Holliday; Deanna, Krista and Shannon Mazurak; Ashley and Anissa Delfonso; and Bradlee, Bryce and Brynn Sheredy. Brother of Dorothy Gallagher, Ohio; Juliana Frontino, Northern Cambria; Ronald Sheredy, Ohio; Barbara Mehall, Maryland; Carolyn Barone, Virginia; and Raymond Sheredy, Northern Cambria. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church; Barnesboro VFW; Carrolltown American Legion, District 2; and UMWA Construction Local 1998. He was the rock of the family, loved farming, hunting with his sons and grandsons and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Church, Northern Cambria, Father Donald Dusza, officiating. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery. Military honors by local veterans organization.
