"Bob", age 99, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 in Gibsonia. Pennsylvania. Husband of the late Natalie Sagerson Hoadley for 72 years; he was the father of Robert J. Hoadley (Phyllis), of Wexford, Pennsylvania; William Hoadley (D.J. Wilson), of Portland, Oregon and Whitefish Montana; and David Hoadley, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and the late Linda Ann Lyster, formerly of Boston. He is survived by many friends and family members, including seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Bob was born in Johnstown and worked at the Bethlehem Steel Plant for 46 years before retiring to Stone Harbor, New Jersey. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy aboard a destroyer escort in the Pacific Theater. Bob was known for his sense of humor and excelled at basketball, handball and tennis, then later in life at bocce and shuffleboard. His remains will be interred in the Cold Spring Cemetery in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, after a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247 would be appreciated.
