Rose's Story

Rose DiVittorio (97) of Johnstown passed away January 23, 2018. Born October 1, 1920 in Johnstown daughter of Anthony and Fillipa (Leonardo) Battaglia. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Angelo an infant brother also brothers Santo and Frank and sister Augustine. Rose is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born in the U.S. and then was raised as a little girl in Italy. She returned to the U.S. in the 1950s with her late husband Angelo to raise their family. She is survived by her sons Anthony (Christine) of Woodbridge, VA, Joseph (Charla) of Hummelstown, PA and Angelo, Jr. of Indiana, PA. Also grandchildren Kelly Jo, DeAnna, Pilar, Antoinette, Olivia and Joseph and great-grandchildren Brooke, Dalton, Haley, Emily, Trent, Lucas, and Desiree. Former member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Rose enjoyed knitting and crocheting and making crafts for her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been the joy of her life for many years.
