Mrs. Ruth M. (Lane) Thomas, 93, of Polktown Road, Zullinger, PA passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital Emergency Room.
Born May 23, 1924 in Elton, PA she was the daughter of the late, W. James and Mabel (Murphey) Lane.
Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Johnstown Senior High School, Johnstown, PA with the Class of 1942. She also attended Cambria Rowe Business College, before working in the office at the Morris Paper Company for five years.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Eugene D. Thomas, were married May 14, 1949. Mr. Thomas passed away January 2005.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church, Hagerstown, MD and AARP. She was a homemaker who loved the Lord. She enjoyed memorizing Scripture, photography, crocheting, and working on puzzle books.
She is survived by four children, Sara Thomas, Marian Nutzhorn and her husband Rick, Jane Beaver and her husband Terry, and David Thomas and his wife Patricia; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Nutzhorn, Joshua Nutzhorn, Jeremy Nutzhorn, George Parker, Jayson Parker, Heather Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, and Brandon Thomas; eleven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Lane and two sisters, Cora Miller and Annetta Reese.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Jeremy Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery, S. Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
