84, of Upper Yoder, died on July 21, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Pittsburgh. Born August 3, 1932 in Johnstown, son of Paulo and Nancy (Motta) Signorino. Preceded in death by his parents, infant son Vincent, and brothers Salvatore and Angelo. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Rose Marie (Dino), children Theresa M. Signorino (Ronald Wellman), Samuel Signorino (Carolyn Signorino), Lisa M. Chitty (Steven Chitty), and Sandra M. Berger (Kelly Berger), 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sam attended Indiana State Teachers College (IUP). He retired from teaching at Bishop McCort High School in 2007, after 44 years of service as music teacher and band director. He was President of the American Federation of Musicians Local 41, founder and director of the Johnstown Civic Concert Band, co-founder of the IUP Honors Band, co-founder of the WJAC Heartland Band, and collaborated with the Glosser Brothers Department Store to establish the annual Johnstown Christmas Parade. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sadly missed. Sam was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be held on August 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Friends received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905.
