Rest in peace, dear Elaine. You touched so many children through your love of learning. You inspired students to read by sharing your favorite books in daily read-aloud sessions, expertly connecting your recommendations to their interests. Sometimes, I would linger in the library with my students just to overhear your sessions, delighting in both the story-telling and the looks of enchantment on the faces of your young audiences. Your sense of humor, honesty, clarity of communication, and outlook on life in general brought joy and insight to your colleagues and friends. You are a credit to our profession.

I was privileged to work with Elaine at Westmont. She was such a kind and caring individual, who was willing to help all students learn. I'm sure her family is very proud of her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Elaine. We were colleagues for many years at Westmont Hilltop Elementary. We shared many good times together and her heart was always in the right place. Elaine was a dear friend. May she rest in peace.
