93, Johnstown, passed away October 4, 2017 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born March 6, 1924 in Johnstown, daughter of Frank and Anna (Polak) Saltys. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stephen M. "Doc" Hodos; brother, John F. Saltys and sisters, Camilla Saltys and Julia Bellack. Last survivor of her immediate family. Survived by daughter, Regina married to Thomas Hockycko, Lynchburg, VA; and son, Richard Hodos and partner, Michael Jones of New York, NY; grandchildren, Erika McMahon (Tom) and Cmdr. Kenneth Hockycko (Ashley); great grandchildren, Quinn, May and Ellery McMahon and Max, Caverly and Stella Hockycko; and sister-in-law, Wanda Saltys. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to niece, Marian Bellack and nephew Joseph Bellack, for their years of caring and devotion. Sophie was a lifetime member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church. She was an accomplished singer and was a member of many choirs including, KMP Choir, St. Casimir Choir, and the Polish Heritage Choir and a lifetime member of the Polish Singers Alliance of America, where she was asked to delegate many conventions. Sophie loved a good party and was ready to go, many places with her special friend, Joan Ludwig. She enjoyed Polka Music and a good Jitter-Bug. A member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Resurrection Parish, where Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery. Friends received Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
